Faith Stays

Written by Ryanne Stout Today was the picture of one of the hardest things about my job. This morning we got the call that one of our lambs was leaving later today. It’s been a busy week and was already shaping up to be a busy weekend before we got that call.  Working at an orphanage is an emotional roller coaster. There are so many ups and downs while a child is with us. We see them processing and dealing with whatever it was that landed them here in the first place which for all our kids is some sort of abuse. Often, they have to reconcile the desire to go back to what was their normal with being out of that bad situation. Most of them ...

We are God’s Workmanship: An Intern Mission Trip Update

By CBM Mission Team Zachary Douthit I haven't done many things but I can mark off going on a mission trip overseas. For the mission trip this year we went to Ukraine. We went to two places there: Desna, a large military base out in the country of around 10,000 soldiers and Bilogordka a small town outside of Kyiv the capital of Ukraine. We were going to help run the camps that the Churches there were running. My task was to prepare a lesson to teach the teens. In Desna, we did a lot of stuff with the kids like sing silly songs, play games, and do a craft. Then we'd hang out with the teens in the evening. Pastor Igor's testimony shows the ...

The Impact Parents have on Mission Minded Choices

By Jacquelyn Davis  Psalms 127:4 says, “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.” I remember hearing this verse growing up. I didn’t fully understand it until I was older, but I knew that it was an important verse to my parents and, today, I am glad that it was. One thing my parents well understood was that they were raising children to be sent into the world and live for Christ, not necessarily to stay nearby. Parents have an incredible impact on the lives of their children. I personally was greatly impacted by my parents. As they raised me, several things they did encouraged me towards missions. Here are ...

What Missionaries Need Most

By Jacquelyn Davis Let's get real here for a minute. Missions probably isn't what you think it is. You might have gone on a short-term trip every year in high school; you might support multiple missionaries or have their prayer cards proudly displayed throughout your house, but missions isn't what you think. Missionaries will come to your church and share. You will hear members of the church telling you to pray for and support missions. They tell you to go and do mission work in your neighborhood, local church, or workplace. It is a constant heartbeat of believers to do, be, and connect with missions. I am so thankful for this. I am thankful ...

Words from a CBM Intern

Written by Staciajohna Randle “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:15-18 When I first started the CBM Internship, I started to understand in depth what Christianity ...
