CBM Intern – Important things

By CBM National intern, Joseph Kirkland - Traveling is probably one of the best ways to learn about the world and the people in it. You get to learn how others think, how others learn, and how big the world really is. The earth is 24,901 miles around at its widest point, and it would take around 33 hours to get around it at the speed of sound. If you were to walk 5 miles every day, you would walk around the world in 4,960 days, given that you could walk on water. The cost to travel around the world would be around $2,800, and would take around 6 days if flying by average commercial airline. You can go any reasonable place in the world for ...

CBM Intern – Looking Back, Looking Forward

By CBM National intern,  Stephanie Schwan - Well, here we are. We made it, folks. The year is almost over and Christmas and the New Year is upon us! Where did the time go? For many of us, myself included, it flew by. 2016 has been a whirlwind of controversy, change, loss, and upheaval worldwide, but also of learning, growth, building, and hope.  We know who is in control of it all, whether it feels like a time of unprecedented hope with a bright future gleaming ahead, or the brink of certain disaster with doom and despair looming on every side. Whether things seem worse than ever or better than ever, we know the One who reigns forever. We ...

CBM Internship Program – Why Did You Run?

By CBM National intern,  Andrew Willis -  It's hard to believe that this is my next to last blog post as a CBM National Intern! It seems like I started this internship just a few months ago. I'm now at Cornerstone Ministry Center in Jefferson, PA, and it has already been such a good experience for me. I have been working with Ms. Cathy in the office and around the property, and I have been helping Mrs. Judy with Released Time. This is the most I have been involved with ReleasedTime and I have picked up some good teaching tips. I will eventually get the chance to teach the classes. It will be a wonderful experience for me to grow and get ...

CBM National Intern – Cleaning Out

By CBM National intern, Stephanie Schwan -  It's blog time again! I've been blessed to be working at Camp Ta-Pa-Win-Go in Tennessee for my final rotation as a CBM National Intern! The staff here is awesome and great to work with. This is the time of year when the weather is turning cold and the leaves are falling. Summer has passed, most of the rental groups have gone home, and Skoolzoutt and Released Time Bible Classes are in full swing. This is the time of year for sorting out, paring down, and figuring out what we really need and what we don't. We've been doing a lot of cleaning out here -- cleaning out the housekeeping building and ...

CBM intern – Being a Humble Servant

By CBM National intern, -  Jordan Mancari If there were one major thing I'd say I've learned over the past 10 months of the CBM (Children's Bible Ministries) Internship, it's being a humble servant. But what exactly does it mean or look like to be a humble servant? Being a humble servant means a lot more than just saying and doing what you’re told or supposed to do. It means humbling and submitting yourself to doing the work of the Lord for nothing in return, whatever it that work may be. Whether it's mowing grass, pressure washing, or helping in the kitchen, etc. I would also take it a step further and say it means not complaining ...
