CBM National Intern-God’s Perfect Timing

By CBM National intern, Andrew Willis -  My first rotation as a CBM National Intern is to Camp Gilead in Polk City, Florida! I'm excited for many reasons. For one, I'm fond of my childhood memories and I love spending time reminiscing. I spent my childhood in Dade City, FL, only an hour from Camp Gilead. Of course, going back to Florida for sentimental reasons is just a bonus. Gilead was one of the camps which I was interested in going to on rotation. My interest was really piqued when I heard about their ministry using animals and how they tie the gospel into God’s creation. I also was interested in the many other outdoor ministries ...

5 things I’m praising God for in the CBM National Internship

By CBM National intern, - Stephanie Schwan The people Everyone I have met through the internship has had some word of wisdom, encouragement, or instruction for me. From my roommate to my bosses to my fellow interns, to volunteers, church members, guests, CBM veterans, missionaries, and pastors -- everyone God has brought across my path during the last few months has helped me grow. God's provision All along the way God has provided all I have needed.  He's brought me financial partners, people to pray for me, a place to stay, leftovers in abundance (I really love leftovers, like really. But that's a whole different blog post.), ...

Taking Ownership of your Gift

By CBM National intern, Matt Presley -    So much has happened here in the CBM National Internship since my last blog, leaving me so much I could talk about, from the classes we've taken, books we've read, and projects we’ve accomplished, to the youth group lessons and activities, volunteer work weeks, mission conferences, and camp visits. But what I'm led to talk about is "Ownership." That is, ownership of the life that God has given me. And, it's not until one takes ownership of that life that he can truly live it, take responsibility for it, and grow in it. I arrived at CBM National Headquarters having been given a new life and ...

CBM Interns-Being the Captain

By CBM intern, Scott Carpenter - Here at CBM's New Life Camp in Raleigh NC, they have two different sports programs going on right now. One is their Storm Program, which is like high school sports for home-schooled kids. They run teams for both middle school and high school. The second program they are running at this time is their Next Level Basketball. This program is a league basketball for boys and girls, six to eighteen years old. Jerri and I have enjoyed watching the kids play basketball and soccer during our rotation this last month.   One of the many jobs we do during the games is being the field captains for ...

CBM Intern-A Step Of Faith

By CBM National Intern, Andrew Willis -  Applying for this internship with CBM National was a big step for me in faith and trusting God. I was never one for joining a program without knowing the outcome or whether or not I would be financially stable or not. Just in the past three months, God has already taught me to rely on Him more, and He always provides for me in so many ways. I have become more confident in public speaking, teaching, studying, and sharing my testimony. Every time I get nervous of an opportunity to speak in front of a crowd or just feel overwhelmed with all I have on my plate, I remember Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I ...
