As Christmas approaches this year, I find myself thinking a lot more about Mary, the mother of Jesus. Having just recently given birth to my own baby boy, I have a lot better understanding of what Mary went through. Traveling to Bethlehem at 9 months pregnant must have been agonizingly uncomfortable, and giving birth in a stable rather than the comfort of her own home surely added to the pain and nervousness she was probably already feeling. But mostly, I’ve been thinking about Mary being a first-time mom.

CBM Interns – Summer Highlights

We had a great summer and would love to share some highlights with you!
David was the head lifeguard at Camp Victory this summer. Their program is set up with a morning and afternoon swim time with the boys and girls swimming separately from each other. That meant that the majority of David’s day was spent at the pool. In addition to his pool responsibilities, he assisted with running evening games. He really enjoyed getting to work with the staff and counselors throughout the day.

We are currently back at headquarters (Townsend, TN) and will be here until the end of this week, at which point we will be going to Camp Ozone, CBM's newest camp, for our final rotation. Living a Life of Faith

Our internship experience, while being very similar to the other interns in some aspects, has also been very different simply for the fact that we are married. It means different budgeting and priorities for us and even a little bit of a different mindset as we are thinking through a future for ourselves as a couple, not as two single people.
