CBM Interns – Summer Highlights
By CBM National Interns, David and Elizabeth Price
We had a great summer and would love to share some highlights with you!
David was the head lifeguard at Camp Victory this summer. Their program is set up with a morning and afternoon swim time with the boys and girls swimming separately from each other. That meant that the majority of David’s day was spent at the pool. In addition to his pool responsibilities, he assisted with running evening games. He really enjoyed getting to work with the staff and counselors throughout the day.
The staff at Camp Victory was very accommodating when it came to Elizabeth’s pregnancy. While she taught a Bible class every week and helped with some kitchen laundry throughout the summer, she had a very flexible schedule that allowed her to rest whenever needed.
There were a couple of weeks during the summer that David helped with some other CBM ministries. During the first week of June, David taught the Lifeguard course at Camp Grace and in the second week of July, David had the opportunity to be the guy’s counselor for a wilderness trip with Camp Ta-Pa-Win-Go in Watauga, TN. They spent the week hiking and camping.
The last week of August, we attended CBM’s GROW training, which is pre-field training to equip those who are coming onto CBM full time.
We have spent all summer praying that the Lord would direct us to where He would like us to go after the summer. Right now, the plan is for us to go to Camp Ozone beginning in October until the end of the year at least. We believe Ozone is the place the Lord wants us to serve full time, so these next few months are going to serve as a trial period and, Lord willing, confirmation about where He wants us.
Thank you all for your continual support and prayers, we cannot do this without each and every one of you. We are excited and proud to be doing the Lord’s work in camp ministry and we would be honored if you would prayerfully consider partnering with us financially, and through that coming alongside us in reaching the lost for Christ and making disciples. We are currently at 50% ($1,400) of what we need monthly; our monthly goal is $2,800. We thank you all again and pray that the Lord would continue to greatly bless you!
On Monday September 14, 2015, Elizabeth gave birth to our son, Micah Eleazar Price. He weighed 7 lbs. 12.4 oz and is 20 inches long. He is perfectly healthy and Elizabeth is recovering well. While the transition to becoming parents has not been easy, we are enjoying our little boy and are thankful for his safe delivery. Thank you so much for praying for us!
