Are you ready for another new year? Are you planning on making resolutions for the New Year? It is the perfect time to start fresh by setting goals for some spiritual growth. We cannot cause our own spiritual growth. Only the Holy Spirit has the power to cause spiritual growth (2 Corinthians 3:18) but God does expect our obedient and active cooperation (I Cor. 9:24-27). One of the girl’s at Mrs. Senio’s club really encouraged me. Seven year-old Jessa came to club every single day. She was always eager to learn both the Bible and the missionary stories and answer questions. However, her favorite thing at Summer Bible Club was the memory verses. Each day, she was so exicted when we taught the new verse. At the beginning of each club, she said the verse, from memory, with a smile. I could see the pure joy in her eyes.
