Stay Present – An Intern’s Reflection
By CBM National intern, Mark Martens -
86,400 seconds. 1,440 minutes. 24 hours. Each of these measurements shows how much time is in a day and we all know that time is very important to each and every one of us.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says,
“There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven: a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot; a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance; a time to throw ...
Desires of the Heart
By CBM National intern, Matt Presley -
So back in October I began talking to God about what my next step in life was. I was two months away from finishing a ten month internship program at the Blake House, a faith based men's regeneration program. It was now time to start looking for a job, which I was praying would include God's purpose. A month later and a long story short, He said "I've got the perfect thing! Prayer is so very important and deepens our relationship with our beautiful God!
So how do we get into the routine of things ...
Dear Camp Victory-An Open Letter to the Camp Victory Staff
By CBM National intern, Timmy Martens -
Dear Camp Victory,
I can’t believe my two month rotation here as a CBM National Intern is coming to an end. I was told that the weeks were going to fly by, but I didn’t think it would come and go this fast. Yet here I am, with my final day on this beautiful camp property rapidly approaching. It truly has been an amazing time, and I want every one of you to know that I couldn’t have asked for a better first rotation.
I remember back to day one. I was exhausted, probably more emotionally than I was physically. Truth ...
Living Out Love
By CBM National intern, Mark Martens -
Have you ever had a time when you were reading a passage of Scripture and part of a verse just gripped you for some reason? Well, this happened to me not too long ago while I was reading My Utmost for His Highest for my devotions. I came across the verse, 2 Corinthians 5:14, which says, “For the love of Christ controls us…” It was that part of the verse that gripped me. The reason this resounded with me is because more often than not, I like to try and take control of my life. It can be very easy for us to think we can do ...
