Blessed Beyond Measure
By CBM National Intern: Mark Martens
With the end of the year coming up, we can sometimes find ourselves reflecting on what has happened in the past year. For me, as our time at CBM Headquarters (at Tuckaleechee Retreat Center in Townsend, TN) is coming to an end, I have found myself thinking about the past few months here and all the blessings that Lord has given me.
Blessed with Opportunities
When I was first accepted to CBM’s National internship, I knew that I was going to be busy. I just did not realize how busy it was going to get sometimes. We were given so many different opportunities to do so many things. We got to lead youth group, help plan and execute an auction, give our testimonies to guest groups, make phone calls, and the list goes on and on. Through all of these opportunities, the Lord was able to take me out of my comfort zone to help me grow, and also to teach me more about Him and the ministry He has given me. It has been an amazing journey and I am looking forward to the opportunities He has for me in the future.
Blessed with Relationships
With all of the opportunities that we are able to be a part of, God brings many different people into our lives. From the work groups to the youth group to the staff here at CBM HQ, and many others, the Lord has brought so many people into our lives that have impacted my life in so many different ways. It was incredible to hear stories from the volunteers who came to serve during Volunteer Work Week, and hear how the Lord has worked throughout their lives. It was also amazing and encouraging to see their dedication and willingness to serve the Lord. Getting to know and minister to Church of the Cove’s youth group was also a huge blessing. But I think the biggest blessing that I experienced was being able to see the example of the amazing staff here at CBM HQ. At the beginning of this internship, I had no idea how close we would get to the staff here. However, it did not take long before it felt like we were a family. They taught us so much through their example and their love, and for that I am very thankful.
It has been amazing to see how the Lord has blessed throughout this first part of the internship. It makes me super excited to see what He is going to do down the road and the blessings He has in store.
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”
