Life of Zannino

By Josiah Zannino, CBM National InternLife of Zannino –

Well, what I have been doing for the two past months, here at Camp Ozone in Rockwood, Tennessee is working on projects with Jeff and the volunteers that come in. Jeff is the main maintenance guy at camp. I’ve been working with him here at camp. What I like about it is that, when we would take breaks, Jeff would talk about God, then open up his phone and go into the word of God, which I thought was really cool.

I guess you could say that what God has been showing me is what to do with my life. I’ve thought about, after the internship, traveling to different camps and doing maintenance work but, you never know, God could have different plans for me.

Well, I’ll tell you guys what kind of work of I’ve been doing here. I can’t show you all of it because I had no one to take pictures of me till the last month. I power-washed the cabins. I shoveled out a ditch so they could redo electrical work. Yesterday we had to mow about 4 acres. It was nice out but the ticks weren’t! Haha! The next day, which would be today, we had to unload a lot of wood, and still have more to go. Then we have to cut some of it up and put it somewhere to be kept clean and dry. There are so many projects here it’s crazy, but it’s good. They keep you in good shape, so you won’t be saying I’m bored or I’ve got nothing to do because there is always something to do. Sometimes you may get up at 7 am or 6 am and be outside until like 10 pm, so it’s a long day’s work. But it’s ok—it’s serving God and that’s all that counts.

I’ve learned, if you don’t know what your calling is, why not just try out the internship? So, that’s what I did and I’m here and, trust me, these camps need all the help they can get. It stinks, in a way, because there are so many things that you can’t get done, because you need more people. But, hey, that’s just life. And, yes, I love to see these camps grow bigger and bigger and more kids getting saved. That is great. There are all kinds of things you can do for God’s work. You just have to open up and let Him lead you to where He wants you to be.  And I’ve learned it’s not always easy but you can do all things through Christ. You can. You just have to try. You may want to give up, but just pray and read your Bible and God will lift you up. Like He did me. And He has done for others.
