He Provided All My Needs
By Sarah Hardison
Five months ago I had $23.00 to my name. I had used everything except travel money to make it up to CBM National Headquarters, in Townsend, TN. The only thing I knew was the Lord had called me to this internship and I had to trust He would provide. There have been many occasions where God has provided for me since starting this internship. One sticks out among the rest.
On February 21, 2019, I had been earnestly praying and seeking the Lord for people to financially support me each month. I was feeling discouraged and began to worry about if I was going to have enough money to make it to next month. I asked the Lord to help me trust He would provide and prayed specifically for the exact amount I needed. Afterwards, I went about my intern responsibilities for the day.
The following day, we were getting ready to go to church and my phone buzzed, notifying me of an email. I checked the email and went speechless. My teammate asked me, “Ummm…Sarah, are you okay?” The email was from Continue to Give (our online giving platform) and I saw that a family friend had sent me the entire amount I needed for the following month. I then received a message from her a few moments later, saying they were proud of me for following the Lord and was going to support me each month while I was an intern. Then, within the next few days, another family friend said they would support me with a specific amount each month. I was blown away by how the Lord answers prayer and how He provides.
To this day, I am still blown away at how God continues to provide for me while I am an intern. From big things like my roommate buying me a few groceries. To small things like my current rotation director’s family sharing their fresh goat milk and eggs with me. There has never been a moment where I have gone without and I always have what I need.
I once told people “I would rather be poor and serving the Lord, than have a steady income and not do what God has called me to do.” This statement is still true to this day. I may not be able to afford the fancier things in life, but I am serving the Lord and He is providing.
