CBM-Virginia Vision

As the Fall leaves get ready to turn their colors, and the cooler air replaces the hot summer heat, we are hearing what the Lord has done through our camping programs in our areas.
Here are two excerpts from the Directors of our area camp in Virginia.

Our theme at camp this year was “Treasure Hunters” where we taught the children to treasure God’s Word and to have a close walk with the Lord.

The theme verses were Matthew 6:19-21,

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

We had a total of four weeks of camp and 189 children heard the gospel at the camp this summer.  While there are many good memories and funny stories ( not the least of which, having a camper run off and hide your very first week as director), the highlight of this summer and every summer in the future will always be the decisions made for Christ and the lives impacted for eternity.  There were 35 decisions made for salvation that we know of and at least 80 decisions to follow the Lord’s leading in other areas.

Our second year of camp is over and preparations are underway for Released Time classes to begin this fall.  Camp Red Arrow finished this summer with many children trusting Jesus as Savior and many life changing decisions.  Just recently I had a conversation with a father of one of the campers.  He shared that his son came back home with a different attitude.  The son volunteered that he had made some big decisions in regard to his relationship with Jesus.  He told his dad that his desire is to live a real Christian life from now on.  Please pray for this young person and all those who were saved and desire to walk with the Lord.
