Bandage for the Heart

There is an old saying: “Garbage in; garbage out.” If you fill your minds with garbage, then garbage will come out of your minds. For example, if you are always watching violent TV shows, then your minds will have more violent thoughts, and those thoughts may cause violence on the playground.
It is very important that we always fill our minds with good thoughts. It is sort of like a bandage. We all need one at times. Why? What does a band aid do? It protects our cuts and sores. And it keeps the germs out so your cut doesn’t get infected. The Bible tells us to keep a bandage of pure, clean thoughts on our hearts. So when the Bible tells us to think about good and honest things, it is telling us to keep out the bad germs that might infect us.
