LAUREL COTTAGE
Ever since its founding in 2014, God has continued to grow and bless the
Internship Program, creating the need for additional housing at CBM HQ,
since this is where all Interns spend their first four months in training.
In the fall of 2018, God provided us with a “tiny house.” The only problem
was how to get it to HQ from where it sat in Townsend. No one was
interested in moving it! The 55 acres that CBM HQ sits on is not exactly the
flatlands. We are built into the side of Little Mountain!
While we prayed over this and pursued possible leads, many Interns and
faithful volunteers prepared the ground and built the foundation. Lines were
run for septic and gas. Finally, in the summer of 2019, a local young man
named Jerome agreed to move it! With his wife, two little girls, trailer, and
hydraulic lift, the tiny house made its 2 mile, 7-hour trek to HQ. Praise the
Lord!
Many hands and hours of labor have been poured into the restoration of this tiny house into the now beautiful Laurel Cottage, and God has
allowed us to overcome many obstacles. At the time of printing, it has just passed final inspection, and just in the nick of time, as God has brought
us Team 14 to begin their year in the Internship Program!
CBM is so grateful for the tireless hours and generous donations that have been given to make Laurel Cottage what it is today and to invest in
the training and development of future missionaries, Christian leaders, and world-changers. We are so excited about the many Interns God will
send to live here for 4 months at a time, as they learn more about Him, how to serve, what full-time ministry looks like, and to build lifetime
friendships with their housemates. Thank you!
