CBM Intern – Decisions, Decisions

By CBM National intern, Rebecca Colson - The past couple years of my life I’ve had to make many decisions. What college do I go to? What do I major in? How do I spend my summers? In all those decisions God has provided guidance. Often times I would take steps toward one option and God would redirect me towards another. Even though I’d often find myself bumping my head against closed doors, I kept trusting the Lord and seeking His guidance and provision. Last fall, in 2016, I faced the biggest decision yet. What do I do after college? For this one, I decided to figure it out on my own. I’ve known since I was still in high school that God has ...

CBM Intern – New Places with Great Changes

By CBM National intern, Jamie Carpenter -  A year ago, I never thought I would be where I am today (quite literally, who would have known I would ever live in Tennessee?!). The Lord has brought me through so much within these last twelve months and I am forever thankful to Him for that. I was so unsure about beginning CBM’s National Internship, just because I was afraid and I did not have any idea what to expect. My first day here in Townsend was pretty chill because I got here at 8 AM and everyone else wasn’t supposed to arrive until later that afternoon. Being alone all day gave me plenty of time to think and spend some much-needed ...

CBM National intern – Listen and Obey

By CBM National intern, Jordan Mancari -  My summer rotation as a CBM National Intern was at CBM’s Camp Grace in Fairmont, NC, where I served as their media guy. When I first heard this would be my summer role, I kind of laughed and said, “Ok God, you took me out of college where I was doing digital media to come into ministry, and now you have me doing media again.” Of course, I asked Him why. Why are You asking me to do something again that I dislike doing?  To me it just did not make any sense. The more I prayed, the more God kept  showing me there had to be a point to this. Deuteronomy 13:4 says, “It is the Lord your ...

CBM National Intern – Finding the Balance

By CBM National intern, Matt Presley - Finding the Balance For years I tipped the scales of my life in favor of feeding the flesh. Then for almost 2 years I was placed in a position where everything was  designed to feed the spirit. But when this time came to an end, I realized I was on the path of who I was meant to be as a child of God. My new phase of life doesn’t have as much stability and accountability, and I've wondered why God would put me in a position that lacked this. Why would an all-knowing God put me in a position to fail? But when you have a relationship with Him and trust Him and His guidance, you realize there is ...

CBM intern – Training, Toughening, and Teaching

By CBM National intern, Scott and Jerri Carpenter -  We are serving as CBM National Interns at CBM of Southwest Pennsylvania (SWPA). This rotation has been very different from our other rotations, mostly because it is a summer rotation. One other big difference is that this is not North or South Carolina! It has been such a fun learning process about different places in our own country. We both have been given very big jobs for this summer. Scott has been serving as Program Director, running the programs for camps. Jerri has been serving as TEAM Ministry Director, which is over kitchen clean up, snack shack and mentoring the teens that ...
