Following God’s Leadership

By Ryan Everritt, CBM National Intern - I am on my last rotation at Camp Red Arrow and then will be graduating from the year-long Internship program. This is not, however, the end of my journey. I may not want to be a full-time Children's Bible Ministry staff member, unless it's what God wants. Still, I want to go make disciples of many nations, as it says in Matthew 28:19 (ESV), "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”  As those are the words of Christ's command, I have such a desire to go and share the gospel.  I'm hoping, sometime next year, I can join ...

Humbleness – CBM Intern Program

By Adam Lowry, CBM National Intern A lot of times I like to give myself credit for all the things I do. In doing this, I tend to look down on others and sometimes discourage them. My pride gets mixed in with my Christian ways and soon God causes me to embarrass myself in some way. He does this to me to remind me that He allows me to use the gifts that I’m blessed with to serve others, and to humble myself by it. Here are two stories in the Bible that teach about humbleness. While teaching one day, Jesus started talking about the Pharisees and describing how they acted. The behavior He describes is the opposite of humility—they do everything ...

Patience

By Adam Lowry, CBM National Intern - It’s hard sometimes to wait, especially when others are getting something before you.  As an intern, I am raising support for a mission trip and I have only raised a small portion of the dollars needed for my support account.  Some of the other interns have already collected at least 50% of their support, and I feel left behind. Me, as a person, I want to be the person ahead of everyone; I want to be the one who has it all together.  During all this waiting, who are some people in the Bible who had trouble with patience and what did they do about it? One of the best stories of patience is the story of ...

Feeling at Home

By Josiah Zannino, CBM National Intern - Hi, I am Josiah and I’m an intern with Children’s Bible Ministries (CBM). I have been in Samson, AL serving at Camp Victory. While I was serving at Camp Victory, I got to work with Paul, who is the maintenance supervisor, as well as Chad, the groundskeeper, and Daniel, another missionary. We worked fixing faucets and showers; we did electrical work; made trails in the woods; and picked up pinecones. They made work interesting and they made me feel at home. They talked to me. The way they talked to me gave me a good feeling—like when a dad takes his kid fishing, or to go get ice cream, and you feel ...

Mightier Than the Waves – CBM

By Rhiannon Grace, CBM National Intern -  Hello!  This is Rhiannon.  I just wanted to say that God has really blessed me, in that I had a chance to go to the beach this past month.  Anyone who knows me knows that I love the beach and everything about it. It does not matter what type of beach, either, because I love the way the waves crash against the rocks at one with cliffs; and the pebble beaches where you find little stones that have been rubbed together by the movement of the water; and ones with big waves you can surf on. As I was saying, though, I got to go to the beach in Florida this month.  What an amazing sight that was: the ...
